You know me as the Director of Sunshine School, a role I have proudly fulfilled for more than thirty years. I am also a teacher in the program and find this is my most satisfying role. I lived in the Chicago area for a good part of my life and attended college in Minnesota. I think a bit of the Midwestern accent still lingers. I have three grown daughters who have blessed me with seven grandchildren. I enjoy reading, going to the movies, quilting, and singing in my church's choir.
I began my teaching career at Sunshine School over twenty-five years ago when I was a student intern. I am also the mother of three children, one daughter and two sons. My "baby" is a senior at QHS. I am a proud grandmother to a sweet baby girl. I enjoy gardening, working outdoors and getting dirty. I love traveling up North and taking river trips on my canoe. I live in Quincy with my family and best friend...Cricket, my little brown beagle!
I am delighted to be part of the Sunshine School community. I have worked as an early childhood teacher for over twenty years. My late husband and I raised two daughters who left the nest a few years ago. Interacting with young chIldren gives me an often-needed fresh perspective on life and what is important—the ability to work and play together and enjoy the moment.
My introduction to Sunshine School was when my oldest child first attended a number of years ago. I was so impressed I decided to stay on. I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful families over the years while they trust us with their most valuable possession, their children. In my own life I have four grown children and seven grandchildren. When school opens in the fall I spend weekends at ball fields and hockey rinks watching my grandchildren at play. Yes, history repeats itself! When I get the chance, I head to Cape Cod where I can spend a weekend with a good book.
