You know me as the Director of Sunshine School, a role I have proudly fulfilled for more than thirty years. I am also a teacher in the program and find this is my most satisfying role. I lived in the Chicago area for a good part of my life and attended college in Minnesota. I think a bit of the Midwestern accent still lingers. I have three grown daughters who have blessed me with seven grandchildren. I enjoy reading, going to the movies, quilting, and singing in my church's choir.
I began my teaching career at Sunshine School over twenty-five years ago when I was a student intern. I am also the mother of three children, one daughter and two sons. My "baby" is a senior at QHS. I am a proud grandmother to a sweet baby girl. I enjoy gardening, working outdoors and getting dirty. I love traveling up North and taking river trips on my canoe. I live in Quincy with my family and best friend...Cricket, my little brown beagle!
My introduction to Sunshine School was when my oldest child first attended a number of years ago. I was so impressed I decided to stay on. I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful families over the years while they trust us with their most valuable possession, their children. In my own life I have four grown children and seven grandchildren. When school opens in the fall I spend weekends at ball fields and hockey rinks watching my grandchildren at play. Yes, history repeats itself! When I get the chance, I head to Cape Cod where I can spend a weekend with a good book.
I began teaching at Sunshine in 2016, but my relationship with this school goes back much further than that. Not only did we send all four of our children here, but I am also a proud Sunshine School graduate! I live in Milton with my husband Doug and our 4 children: Andrew, Abby, John and Matty. We spend most of our time in hockey rinks and on ball fields. In the summer, we spend as much time as possible down the Cape. I have worked with toddlers, preschoolers, Kindergarteners and second graders, but I am excited to be back in a preschool setting – especially one as warm and welcoming as Sunshine School!
I was born and educated in Pennsylvania, but I have spent most of my life in Quincy, Massachusetts. I first experienced Sunshine School about 30 years ago when my two children came here as preschoolers. I am delighted to be back as a teacher! I enjoy gardening, crafts, yoga and walking, but my true love is teaching young children.
